Humain Laboural Welfare


Labour welfare is a significant part of social welfare, an ideal which is cherished by all civilized countries including India. If `labour` means any productive activity , and `welfare` means psychical , social , psychological or mental and general well being , then the term `labour welfare` is bound to have wide contours. And the concept of labour welfare shall necessarily by dynamic , bearing a different interpretation from country to country , from region to region according to its values system, social institution , degree of industrialization and general level of social and economic development. It is because of this reason that no definition of labour welfare has found universal acceptance. The concept of labour welfare organized in the desire for a humanitarian approach to ameliorate the sufferings of the workers and their families on account of the baneful effects of large-scale industrialization like undesirable social consequences and the laboural problems which have evolved in the process of transition to modernity.
Labour and Labour Welfare sub-sector consists of six main programmes viz. Labour Administration, Rehabilitation of bonded labour, Assistance to Labour Cooperatives, Craftsmen instruction programme,
Manpower, employment strategy and labour welfare in India: post-independence developments:

3. Labour welfare: legal framework and initiatives.
4. Women workers: legislations and empowerment.
5. Industrial relations and labour laws.
6. Restructuring of labour laws: the great debate.
7. Labour laws and welfare: India and ILO.
